Dr. Arbet is a 1984 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association, American Optometric Association and the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Locally Dr. Arbet is a past president of the Rock Island Jaycees, active in the Parent Teacher Organization at Sherrard Elementary School and a member of the Sherrard Unit 200 school board. He and his wife, Lori, have three children.
